Hello World!!

Hi, welcome to Vet Meets World. In this first blogpost I would like to introduce myself. My name is Tyrone Miller. I am a US Navy veteran. After serving for 20 years, traveling around America (a little) and overseas to several countries (mostly Asian countries) I have decided to settle down in Japan with my wife.  I have always loved writing, I love traveling and living overseas, so I figured why not combine them. This blog will my attempt to chronicle my transitions into life as an American veteran/expat trying to adjust to living in Japan. I am hoping to share with anyone reading this, be they a vet or just a curious kid from Kansas, my experiences so far. I will share any issues I run into, lessons learned and still learning; how I am adjusting to post-military life; what’s it is like to live in a foreign country in general. Spoiler Alert: so far it isn’t that bad, granted I have lived here for four years recently, 11 years overall, throughout my military career, but it is different when you do not have to support of the US Government, providing you with base housing, cost-of-living-allowance, and a job. I will also keep track of my Japanese studies, even though I have lived here for so long, my Japanese is poor, very bad. So, I will be working on improving that. I am a student of human optimization, so I will trying different methods to improve my Japanese as quickly as possible.Hi welcome to Vet Meets World.
